Holiday home or apartment owners in the area of Stari Grad, Rudina, Vrbanj, Dol, Basina, Selca are obliged to register with the Stari Grad Tourist Board and must pay tourist tax during their stay at their holiday home or apartment.


 
Who has the right to pay a flat rate on behalf of owners of holiday homes or apartments?

Holiday home and apartment owners, members citizens of countries from the European Economic Area (all member countries of the European Union and Croatian citizens) excluding citizens from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Serbia, Montenegro, Iceland, Lichtenstein and Switzerland, have the right to pay tourist tax in a lump sum for home owners and their close family.
Citizens from BiH, Serbia, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Montenegro and Switzerland must pay the tourist tax for each night’s stay during their sojourn at their holiday home or apartment.



Which family members are considered close?

According to the tourist tax Law, close family members are considered to be: partners, primary relatives and their partners, siblings and their children and partners, parents’ siblings and their children and partners, adoptive parents and adopted children as well as their children and partners, step-children, step-mothers and step-fathers.


 
What are the due dates for registration and payment of the tourist tax?

Holiday home or apartment owners paying the lump sum of tourist tax are obliged to pay no later than 15th July of the current year.
Holiday home or apartment owners paying tourist tax based on each overnight stay are obliged to pay it for themselves and for those people staying in the home or apartment on the last day of their stay either in the tourist municipality or in the town itself.



Do holiday home or apartment owners paying a flat rate have to register their stay at the Tourist Board?

Holiday home or apartment owners are obliged to register their stay in the Municipality or Town Tourist Board or in their branches within 24 hours of their arrival together with all those staying in his home or apartment and then unregister them on the last day of their stay.



What is the flat rate amount for holiday home or apartment owners?
 
The flat rate amount for holiday home or apartment owners in Stari Grad is as follows:
• for the first two people 60 kunas per person
• for each additional person 25 kunas per person

The flat rate for holiday home or apartment owners in Vrbanj, Dol, Rudina, Basina, Selca is as follows:
• for the first two people 30 kunas per person
• for each additional person 12 kunas per person



Should those people staying in the house whose owner is obliged to pay the flat rate for holiday home or apartment, who are not members of the close family, register themselves at the tourist office and pay tourist tax?

All those staying in the house whose owner is obliged to pay the flat rate for tourist tax and who are not members of the close family are obliged to register at the tourist office and pay tourist tax per person for each overnight stay.
When registering your stay at the Tourist Board it is necessary to bring along the passport or identity card of all members of the close family registering they stay at the holiday home or apartment as well as the passport or identity card of those staying at the house, but who are not close family members.
